How many times has Afridi spat the dummy and 'retired' now?
My memory is hazy, but didn't he 'retire' from cricket in 2001 to join the Pakistani Army, before coming back about three months later? Then I think he 'retired' in 2007 after he was left out of Pakistan's test side. Then again last year he announced his 'retirement' from tests, one test after being appointed test captain, saying his temperament "wasn't suited to test cricket."
Now there is this latest saga after he was dumped as ODI captain. So....is that four times he has 'retired' now?
And he's still only 18.

FFS! Try putting this on the Afridi thread. Dello, Chiv, you, Smerk... how many attention-whores can fit in one place... this is like Big f*cking Brother or something.

He's a funny guy is old Afridi.
I'm afraidi i've lost patience with him now.
Either you're in or you're out. Don't shake it all about FFS.

Don't put me alongside Dellend and Chivus. The Shankar thread was epic.

Don't count Shahid Afridi out for long
Shahid Afridi has never been shy of retiring. As such, his latest announcement feels like it has all the permanence of a snowman on Jumeirah Beach in July.
Retiring seems like something to do to pass the time in Pakistani cricket. In much the same way as players from England and Australia, for example, compete for Twitter followers, social standing in Pakistan seems to depend on how many retirements you have had.

So Afridi will make a comeback if the team management is changed.
Quicker than usual this time.

Considering that Pakistan have actually developed some sort of consistency since Waqar became coach, it would be ridiculous to replace him just because a prima donna player doesn't like him.
But they will, and that's Pakistani cricket for you.
