There's nothing like planning for the next World Cup...
Sri Lanka recall Jayasuriya again for the ODI and T20 series!

Most countries are writing off players in their mid-30s on the basis they will be too old in four years' time... not quite sure what's going on in SL cricket at the moment to be honest.

Apparently it's going to be a one-off (or should that be two-off?) farewell appearance in the T20 and first ODI, after which he will retire from all cricket. Strange one really...

bit unusual that you would want to bring him out of 'retirement' for a farewell game. in england!
surely they could have brought him back for one of the games in lanka later this year

I expect they wondered which team he was likely to score two tons against and BINGO it turned out to be England. sh!tty, sh!tty England.

Let's hold our horses until England unveil their "new-look" ODI squad.
My totally made up sources are saying Mal Loye. Although the line was poor - they could've been saying Malloy. Probably some Irish or something.

We'd have to recall Atherton, Hussain, Stewart and Botham to outdo this one...Dello wrote:Let's hold our horses until England unveil their "new-look" ODI squad.
I am expecting same old sh!t from the selectors though, Cook for Strauss and maybe one new batsman, otherwise same pedestrian approach.

Would be dead funny if Jaya wallops the living daylights out of the bowling.

Wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility, if we play Tim Hittable, Jimmy Cantonk and the crew.

We don't have to bring anything back. We're not Moloko. This isn't 1999.
