Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere. At least he's had the courage to come out.
Maybe the move to England really did it.

"I used to go nuts and it affected the image people had of me. It used to cloud my judgment, not just that night, but for days afterwards," Vilkrang said in an interview in the August edition of The Drunk Comedian's magazine.

Or you could have interpreted it as Punter would have benefited by going to England.

Why, because England is a land of teetotalers?
You should see Nottingham or Birmingham on a Saturday night.

In fact I think some stats recently showed Britain to be the biggest boozers in Europe along with the Russians.

The Brits smash it as much as anyone. To a SA-born player, a drinking problem is having three beers a couple of nights in a row.

Softcocks, need to come back to the mother country to toughen up a bit.

Dan and I have had this discussion before. If you think Saffies can't handle the grog.....

Ol' furry on the cruise. On the cruise for a bit of the woodster's meat? Welly welly welly.
Re: So Trott and Punter have something in common.
I've worked with a fair few Saffies. Very God bothery. A 12 year old girl could drink them under the table.
I guess in Broken Britain that's not much of a claim.

No I don't think the 'woodster's meat' would be very high on my current agenda. No offence to the 'woodster'.

I've heard stories of the Brits drinking - binge drinking and so on...it sounds quite f*cked if you ask me (not that I haven't done a few meself in the past )

Sherbert dibdabs. Pants-wielding flippertygibbets. Get giggly on a pint of shandy.

Utterly shite for the most part, Taips. But that was because those Fifa qunts had decided that the only beer you could get in the stadia was Budwieser, which is better than having no ale, but that's about as highly as you could praise it.
Luckily, BA had organised a "lunch with Lawro" at a restaurant in a square in the centre of Johannesburg one afternoon, which turned out to be Bacchanalian delight. You could order anything from the winelist and I managed to get my hands on it as noone else seemed particularly bothered. Needless to say I glugged back some pearlers - from the Stellenbosch and Paarl in particular. One of the former was so impressive I nipped (or staggered, probably) to the wine merchants over the road and bagged a couple of bottles to take home, one of which I still have.
