Re: Make Clarke vice-captain now - Warne
I'm seeing this for the first time in Australian cricket setup. I mean so many opinions being made (both in the team as well as from the ones outside the team).

TGM is never shy in expressing his opinion ...

Warnie's opinion means nothing. It sells papers. I doubt very much if Gilly will relinguish the VC position until he retires.
Articles like these just reaffirm Gilly's decision to remove Warnie from his Christmas card list.

I wonder if the ghost writer even consults the grub prior to publishing his thoughts?

It's not a baseless idea. Ponting took over from Gilly as Test vice-captain in 2003.
Then again, YT is going to be the next Test captain so it'd be a waste of time...

So YT will follow the vomit tradition of the 'completey crap player' as Test Captain? Yallop springs to mind as the last example...

There seriously can't be much cricket being played if they're writing about vice-feckin-captaincy. It's a non-issue.

Bill Lawry was interviewed on Sydney radio this morning. When this TGM story came up, Bill called it "absolute rubbish" pointing out that 7 tests ago, Clarke wasn't even in the team.

He has done damn well since his return, but if Punter is ever injured (touch wood . . . *reaches down*) who would you want to captain, Big Ears or farkin Noddy?

Re: Make Clarke vice-captain now - Warne
I've said it before but all anointing Clarke (or anybody else) as the Golden Child '2 years out from the earliest remotely possible time Ponts might give it away, does is give somebody's anti-mob something else to whinge about. And Warne hopping on his case isn't likely to help him much either.
When AB retired, CA did not have the foggiest which one of aty least four candidates was going to succeed him. It did not result in Australian cricket keeling over on the spot. Cross the bridge when you come to it. If Clarke is still a regular part of the team. he will have played three years of good Test cricket and be a worthy candidate, alongside others in the same situation. If he isn't, he won't.

Zimmy's behind on his "questioning of dubber sexuality and other insults" quota . . . cut him some slack.
