The Bears (North Sydney) have been knocking on the door of the NRL for some time. There was a big push at one time not that long ago to make them the Central Coast Bears, and the idea was well accepted by Coasties. But that plan seems to have gone by the way side. Perth was tried in Super League days (as was Adelaide) and wasn't a success.

They are Rugby League mad in PNG, so that is not the worst idea.

Angus Crichton not happy that the R00ters have signed David Fifita on a multi-$million 4 year deal. He's now threatening to look elsewhere for a gig - possibly French Rugby. He's off-contract at the end of this season.

I reckon Fifita will be like his brother - go to fat quickly and have regular trouble with injury.

Fifita has changed his mind after his management had originally agreed for him to sign with the R00ters on a 4-year deal.

He will now stay with the Titans for a further 2 years to be nearer to his family.

I wonder if Angus Crichton's hissy fit affected his decision at all?

In Coach news, it sounds like Bennett has agreed to terms with Souths on a 3 year deal at a $mill plus per year. He hasn't yet signed though.

And Ricky Stuart has extended his coaching contract at the Raiders until the end of the 2029 season.

!st day of Magic Round - Raiders beat Dogs 24-20, and the Nags accounted for the Filth 13-12 in a bruising game.

Over 55,000 Leeeg fans showed up to watch the 2 games on offer.

Yes, yes, not an AFL crowd, I know.

I think so. And triple header on Sat & Sun.

Meanwhile, the Slimeys are putting on the piss-weakest showing of the weekend. Storm putting a cricket score on.
