Classic Tawns commentary yet another time when Warne made Daryl look like a dill:

'I'm sorry Mr and Mrs Cullinan - I'm afraid your boy's done it again!'

And another time as Warne's running in to bowl:

'Look out Daryl - the flipper's coming!' Which it did two balls later.

TGM near the peak of his powers from a variety and control point of view. The seasons 93/94 and 94/95 saw him have the greatest control over his flipper and other variations. He had finger and shoulder operations in the next 4 years and then relied much more on the big ripping leggie and subtle variations. It's fair to say he "thought" a lot more batsmen out post-operations than he had to in that 93-95 period (when he simply used to bowl them out).

Perhaps he might yet emerge from retirement, v India, and save us all.

He's not going to save you against India. I'll qualify that by saying that the Aussies won't need saving to begin with.

And if they did, don't think Warne would be the recently retired Aussie bowler I'd be transmitting that SOS to.

I was thinking more along the lines of what might motivate him (TGM) to reconsider ...
