Bangladesh v Pakistan, 1st Asia Cup ODI, Mirpir, 11 March, 2012
First of 6 Asia Cup prelim ODI games. Each team (BD, Ind, Pak and SL) play each other once, with the top 2 teams going to the Final on 22 March.
Crikey, the Lankans are playing again on Tuesday and Thursday before getting a little break through to the following Tuesday. They must be r00ted.

And here's why India lay down in the tri-series. So they could perform in a series closer to home having had a rest after the Aussie tour, unlike Sri Lanka, who will be tired.

It's the ideal place for Sachin to get that 100th 100. Against the Bangles.

I know where they could get a trophy to commemorate it.
And they'd only need to make cosmetic changes by the sounds of things...

It may be worth opening the batting with Younis Khan.
There is really no big ODI tournaments coming soon, the world cup is 3 years so its too early to prepare for that. May be they can use the ODIs to try some new players like Azam and Jamsheed for the T20 world cup.

Mortaza playing, Pakistan not scoring 250, it could actually be a half decent match.

That prediction clearly went well. Gul gets them over 250 before getting out.

Seems like the Bangers threw it away. Frankly i'm shocked.

I wonder if the Bangers will ever graduate, as the Lankans did, from minnows to competitive side?

Probably not unless they do something like fluke their way to a World Cup semi or a test win against a major nation, which could give their cricket some momentum.

Gul and Hafeez did quite well, thankfully Jamsheed was given a chance but Azam continues to be ignored for ODIs.
Despite a lot of experience the BD players have not learnt the basic tactics needed to win games. Pakistan very lucky to survive this one
