No, he was very good
He may pick Gilchrist ahead of Stewart mainly due to his innings at Hobart in 1999.

Tubby had a pretty good record against pakistan. He averaged 60 excluding the 334* (79 including). That's not bad for an opener against attacks that contained combinations of Immy, Akram and Waqar

Re: Wasim Akram's greatest 11
Wasim didn't play in that 334* test match
Taylor is certainly an "out of the box" choice
Seven spots remaining.....Brain Lara will be a tricky one because he never played a outstanding innings in a test vs Wasim yet its almost silly to exclude him from a list of top 11 batsmen.

PlanetPakistan wrote:Gavaskar is misunderstood by the Australians in particular. I hope they look at his redeeming qualities than just his weaknesses.
I still say that he is a top man.
He is a total, utter cock, and the master of the false premise. Example-
"England came to India on their high horse expecting to wipe the floor with the former colony, but it has been the English who have had to kneel down before the Indians, as their pathetic display has been an embarrassment to the nation that invented the game."
In other words, he'll make up a story of English arrogance, based on events that occurred 100 years ago (but haven't been true for at least 40 years), despite the fact that Strauss and Flower are the most humble captain/coach partnership in history, and then blow it to smithereens when England fail. Absolute c*nt.

Must admit, Strauss and Flower are damned humble, but I agree with furry, it's a bit arrogant of you Trev.
Re: Wasim Akram's greatest 11
Ah, the misfortune of time. If only Trev had been around to Trev Gavaskar. Or if Gavaskar had been English or maybe an Aussie. But that would mean Chapelli would have been an Indian. or something like that. Now I'm confused. They all look the same to me anyway
