OPD = One Day Practice match, to avoid the pedants.
And will Blighty's SHYT weather allow the boys to shake of some winter cobwebs?

You can't avoid us pedants that easily .
Edit: Actually that was kind of asking for it, really .

11C and rain is the forecast for Chelmsford.
Can someone drop a small thermonuclear device on Blighty, please? May as well because the cricket and the Olympics are gonna be farked by this weather.

I think they're playing their first team. Which is like playing a real county's second XI. If you're wondering what constitutes a real county, just imagine anything that isn't Essex or Northamptonshire in its conception, and you'll be on the right track.

IF they get on, looks like Cook & Bopara will both play. Also hope we unleash the monster that is Tymal Mills on you. And Graham napier shows what he can produce.
But no, this is a tourist game.... which means we will pack our side with 2nd xi shoite that wouldn't look out of place at notts.
As for the weather, this is England, not LA or Sydney. It very occasionally will unleash the mother of all precipitation for sustained periods!!

Just had a peek at the Essex website, this is a day/night game and a sell out.
And much to my surprise, they've announced a half decent team.
Cook
Pettini
Bopara
Westley
Smith
Ten Doeschate
Foster
Napier
Phillips
Mills
Topley

F*ck you... I see what you're saying, in that we can't recognise we're shit then chuck a shitload of money at random players from far away to fix the gap in our shitness... we have to think outside the box. Still, given how superior you, BBB, beamer and Allan feel about your club I'm f*cking glad at the disassociation with you all. Choke my dick, shitweasels.

Mills and Topbottomley - England's great white (and black) LFM hopes.
So they'll get tonkbottomed, then.

Easily 300+
Chelmsford is quite a small ground, didn't Essex rack up 500 in a day against the aussies in 2005?

Could've been worse, he could've crabbed it to a ton like he usually does - at least he gave you some respect.

More than solid Skully, you weren't playing a muggins XI, but the mighty Essex.
According to some reports it jagged all over the shop under the lights (a usual Essex T20 sneaky tactic) but a pretty damn fine effort.
