and someone somewhere misread the runes, through OD'ing on all that maté, coca, chocolate, stench of blood from all the human sacrifice, Javier Hernández Balcázar, stench of more blood and gore, coca, chocolate, Green n Blacks Maya Gold, etc etc.

Not really. The NFI meltdown was incandescent, you could almost hear the gritted-teeth shouting and the forehead veins pulsing, through the ether. As much as merlin and I seem to grate on each other, I submit that there seems to be a certain weariness about his departure, which suggests to me that he was 'ready to go' and the final push, ever so gentle, was simply the last straw, rather than a 'meltdown' in NFI style. Either way it's a bit sad if we've lost merlin and beamer in such rapid succession.

He's still a qunt, though. Merlin, that is, not beamer.
