Not sure he's really heeding that advice at the moment TBH.

Was watching him closely - there's sure something that flicks in the final moments before delivery.

To be fair to Harby - if Murali can get away with it you'd be stupid not to do it yourself.
Interestingly, other than Zaheers pearler in the first dig in Melbourne, all Ponting's dismissals this summer have been from the doosra.

Harbhajan's one was more of a straighter ball than a doosra.

Well doosra/toppie. Either way, it is a similar action.

Oh for FFS, JGK, when was the last time you heard SRT in a war of words with Cronje?
Ponting is a great bat, all he had to do was to ignore Harby, or just brush him off because that is all he needs to do. There is no comparison between the two. Instead, Ponting responds as he did.
Look, we know India was outclassed in the first test. Probably will be going on. There is no debate there. In all likelihood also Harby will be hammered by Ponting in the nest test(s)
Also, we all know the difference in class between Ponting and Harby. In fact the (very) Indian equivalent of Harby's comments would be the village idiot crowing because he was 'clever' enough to beat a Nobel prize winner a few times in reciting the alphabet.
For a group of forummers/ fans who take pride in Aussie toughness/ sledging (see Merv Hughes), some have been too quick to respond. Acknowledge it for what it was, a great sledge, as an Aussie forummer (ojitarian?) pointed out. IMO it deserves to be up there in the pantheon of the great sledges. Surely y'all can laugh at the (in your words) two headed sozzie/wozzie/tozzie whatever y'all call him.

Also, FWIW (and not that it takes from the sledge) read the whole story in which Harby was quoted- he also said Ponting was a great batsman.

Harbhajan's not that bad. And probably the first time Ponting's been compared to a Nobel prize winner.

"all Ponting's dismissals this summer have been from the doosra" which is surprising given that he read MuMu quite beautifully last trip to Sri Lanka.
Harbi is a different matter of course - the bloke is a terrific bowler & I'm genuinely looking forward to how he performs in Sydney & Perth - both wickets should suit him in different ways. Should be great.

In light of recent events, I stand corrected! A little.
On another topic, I personally wouldn't walk even if all three of my wickets did the rumba on the boundary line. So, IMO, fair play to him and Symonds (First day of the current Test). But I was looking up his response when Karthik did not walk, and helped India win the last ODI against Australia in the recent series in India. Something on the lines of:
“Murali’s just admitted he nicked that one but it would’ve been nice if he’d walked.”
Wondering if he thinks the same way about Symonds who also admitted he nicked it? Or his own 'not walk'.

Non-walkers tend to whinge the most when a decision goes against them.
As Greig said yesterday, if you dont walk when you nick 'em you cant walk off the ground in a strop when you get a ropey decision

Ponting will sort Bhaji out. A matter of when, not if. Bhaji needs to shut his mouth and learn how to bowl consistently well.

No-one walks, bar Gilchrist, and the umpires are paid to make the decisions. If you have to go when you cop the bad decisions, like Ponting eventually did in this game, then why not stand there and take block again when you're given 'not out' even if you think you might be out. Sometimes the umpire might be right!
