England make too many changes for ODIs, they should play their test team with a maximum of 2 changes. It's ok to rest Trott, Swann and Anderson but not sure why Prior and Panesar have been left out.

Do you actually watch cricket. Prior and Panesar have hardly been left out. Prior played his last ODI 2 years ago and Panesar almost 6

Prior is too frenetic in ODIs. Tries to improvise too much instead of standing still and hitting the ball like he does in tests. I saw him get out in an ODI against Aus once trying to cut a half volley.

Horrie's lover's tiff with Swann is up there with Red and Graeme Smith.

You make the odd joke comment, but this one is ridiculous. Swann has 98 wickets @ 26 in ODIs, the second most important thing is his economy is 4.47 - in this era. Pretty incredible. The most important thing is that he does all this in a shitheap England side where the oppo batsmen are generously played in by England shitheap opening bowlers.
Back in your box, chuckles.
Re: So what's England's best ODI side then?
However... there's no justification for having Danny Briggs out there (who also can't bat for shit) as a specialist SLA option ahead of Monty. He's nowhere near Monty's level of ability.
Re: So what's England's best ODI side then?
No. But then the piss-soaked dodecagenarian dribbler mentioned Swann to be replaced by Monty - which, by any standards (even Grant Holt's) is incredibly stupid.
BraindeadRed obtuse.
It's also forgetting the fact that Monty hardly excels in List A.

Tredwell is almost the least of England's worries in the short stuff.

Azeem Rafiq's got talent. And he can bat. Danny Briggs is still young. He shouldn't be written off after a handful of international matches. He should at least be given 3-4 games in a row.

As PeterCS said, it's funny we're talking about spinners. It is literally the least of our worries. Our list of worries, most to least, goes:
Shit pace man.
Powerplay wasting sherberts.
Underperforming middle order.
Terrorists.
Hair loss.
Penis loss.
Lesbians taking over the world.
The decrease in the grams in food products.
Gingers.
The snow in the UK.
The snow in the Andes.
Dancing on ice.
Cabbage.
Sweat bands.
Gumdrops.
Pissing in public.
Michael Jordan.
Jordan Henderson.
Wee Willie Winkie.

Although, I'd say, quickly, here Trev - remember about a year ago you said you'd sack Panesar off and go for Briggs?

Briggs wasn't ever good, so I can't say you Trevved him, but Panesar could be said to have been reverse-Trevved. Oh, no he can't, he was performing well above all the others in the choices for the UAE.
Re: So what's England's best ODI side then?
Pukchinga... actually managed to find one of Trev's Mudgeries.

Borthwick is in danger of becoming the next Chris Schofield. Danny Briggs is a better bet these days. I reckon he'll oust Monty soon enough as England's second spinner.
Briggs'll have to do better than 38 @ 36.55, though, won't he? There's no point in, say, creaming ones knicks because 'he's young', is there? Or will he be the #2 spinner by virtue of his batting and fielding, Fletcher-style?
38 @36.55....Is that his List A record? Meh. Has over 100 first class wickets at around 30, which is more relevant, imo. Also, his batting is merely 'Night watchman potential', and his fielding is solid without being spectacular.
No, it was his FC record last season with some not-too-bad pitches as his work tools. I'm all for the 2nd spinner being the one who is performing the best, not because he's still got bum-fluff 'pon chin.
Good times.

Pissing in public is bad? Or is it gender dependent?Brass Monkey wrote:As PeterCS said, it's funny we're talking about spinners. It is literally the least of our worries. Our list of worries, most to least, goes:

It's a worry because some countries have stringent indecent exposure laws.
