Boris Berezovsky: Russian Oligarch Found Dead
Acc to Sky News (I'm quoting two parts of the report as 1 & 2, and I've bolded the involuntarily hilarious bit):
1
Exiled Russian businessman Boris Berezovsky has been found dead in a bath at his home in the UK.
It is believed the former billionaire, who had fallen out with the Kremlin, took his own life, but no reports have been confirmed.
(...)
2
He had lived in Great Britain from 2000, having fled from Russia after falling out with Russia's leader.
Mr Berezovsky openly called for Russian President Vladimir Putin to be overthrown. He was later granted asylum in Britain.
He was also a friend of the murdered dissident Alexander Litvinenko, who died in London after consuming radioactive Polonium in 2006, shortly after meeting Russian Andrei Lugovoi, now an MP in one of Russia's nationalist parties.
Sky News makes no connection between the first and second parts of its report quoted above.
Litvinyenko suddenly lost the will to live too. Funny, that.
Especially when ex-KGB boss Putin and his hierarchy of friends are all such nice men. I bet they did all they could to send him best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Not just your legs.
Your accounts.
Your life.
He brought a case against Abramovitch too - take a wild stab at what happened.

Mikhail Khoderkovsky's an example of how to completely lose all one's wealth.
Given that he helped Yeltsin (how did he ever win?) and Putin win in the past, he can't have been upto much good ever. The press conference he held with Litvinenko was just the final for him.
Seems he wanted to return to Russia and according to Putin's spokesperson, whatever little that means, he wrote a letter of apology to the Kremlin.

This from Forbes was gold though. You'd never expect an oligarch to blackmail and breach contracts. He’d accused the Chelsea Football Club owner of blackmail, breach of contract and breach of trust over an oil deal gone sour. His loss meant he was forced to pay Abramovich’s legal fees. This worsened his already precarious financial state: his assets had been frozen as a result of a property dispute with his long-time mistress.

One thing about the Russians - their political murders are always so much more interesting, using stuff like polonium and ricin, not the boring old arsenic and strychnine routes usually seen on crime programmes.
