Carlton Palmer is quite simply a legend of football and one of the better midfielders to have played for England. Tackling, work rate, silky skills, telescopic legs and an eye for a goal (scored a brilliant hat-trick against QPR once). Kind of like a prototype Patrick Vieira. He was good 10 years before his time, the public simply weren't ready for him.
