Summer Songs
It's a beautiful day, I'm in the park with a cider, the FA Cup final is on in a few hours and a thought has struck me.
What are the inhabitants of Flaming Bails' favourite summer songs???

Summer girls do, summer girls don't?
and personally, think a whole summer of 69 would be overdoing it.

Re: Summer Songs
This may be a small minority choice, and also instrumental. But it takes all sorts.
And at least it's on topic ... it's literally called:
"Summer Song" (Charles Mills).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=marhhJOHb4E
A little concerto in one movement from 9 instruments. A musical evocation of the scents, feelings, recollections of summer in under 6 minutes. A saunter down the all paths of summer, so t'speak. ...
It's a fairly heady orchestral brew too (a double bass, a baritone sax and even a bassoon are all prominent; two largely muted but shoutily expressive trumpets are mainly in the background of the mix).
It's not perfectly done, there are fluffs. They could've done with another take. But then, most important emotions (and summers) are not 100% - or one- (or even two-)dimensional.
In any case, floatin' clear above the rich textural brew, it's Yusef's flute (carrying the main theme) that, for me, makes this piece unforgettable. And hopefully summery.
Rising above hubbub is generally a good feeling, and a good habit too. Difficult at times though. (That's why it's good!)

There's also this, for example - "Fuerte!" ("Keep on going strong, folks!"):

Good rhythm matters. Musicianship too, sometimes

Aye, or hard to beat Bill's "and here we go with the first ball of the Test summer - listen to the Gabba crowd...".

Re: Summer Songs
Sorry to bore you with crap 70s disco music, but this "Summer" song brings back cute memories of the Chief. She used to sing along with the "toot toot, beep beep" line with her headphones on...

Re: Summer Songs
I hated disco.
I thought Donna Summer and Gloria Gaynor were visually OK but musical shockers.
'Ring my bell' ?? ... "wring your knob".
