Of courses if the ECB were a real company (not a cosy jobs for the boys club), they would Do some market research into what their core market really wants.

Actually it wouldn't be difficult. Just read any of the multitude of cricket forums.

Yes. We have other players who can potentially play the same way. they just need the confidence and backing to do so.

India, sure. But England did just lose to Sri Lanka last year. So, even beating Asian teams isn't a given.

Well, that was immediately after the Ashes meltdown, they were the cricket equivalent of a boxer staggering to his feet after taking a Carl Froch haymaker, the average village second XI would probably have beaten them then.

Anyway, Sri Lanka are about three retirements away from being on a par with Bangladesh. Although we said that when Chuck called it a day I suppose.
