What a good job we won't have as many of these Associate Countries in the next WC clogging up the schedules.

I thought it was quite a simple decision.
Was there actually a decision made or did Williams let the 3rd ump off the hook.
It did look like movement (although I wasn't totally convinced it wasn't shadowing) but could it be argued that the catch was competed before the movement.

Re: World Cup 2015 (II)
So where are we in group B?
The surprising win of Pakistan over SA makes things pretty interesting. There are short odds favourites in each of the next four matches: Ind v Ire, SA v UAE, Ind v Zim, UAE v WI. There's nothing much about the UAE to make me think they are capable of an upset. Ireland and Zimbabwe can play, but India have had all the answers so far.
After those matches, then, we would expect the table to look like:
Ind 12
SA 8
Pak 6
WI 6
Ire 6
Zim 2
UAE 0
Though WI might be ahead of Pak on NRR if they have a big enough win over UAE.
So it was probably a good decision to put Ire v Pak as the last match. A Pak win sees Ireland out. An Ireland win sees either WI or Pak out depending on runrates. A tie, no result, abandoned match sees WI out.

Things are a bit more open in group A. If Scotland jagged a win over Sri Lank I would not fall right off my chair. Bangladesh won their last seven matches against NZ: but that was on the subcon, not at Hamilton.
There are high probabilities of the NZ v Afg, SL v Scot, NZ v Bang, Eng v Afg and Aus v Scot going to the favourite: if that is how it pans out then the winner of the Bang V Eng match goes through and the other goes out. A tie, no result, abandoned match sees Bang through. The SL v Aus match will determine placings among the teams in the QF.

Re: World Cup 2015 (II)
No one will want to face Pakistan in a quarter final or semi final if their batting starts to fire along with their bowling.
And hooray for Ireland and Zimbabwe. Nothing between the two sides, which reinforces how unfair it is that it looks likely Ireland will miss out on the next World Cup and Zimbabwe won't. Although pressure is definitely mounting on the ICC to re-think the number of teams for next time.
I reckon 12 teams would be a good number.

You could have 14 or even 16 - we have the grounds. It just takes the will on the part of the ICC to change the structure.

I've just seen Mooney's 'catch' to get rid of Williams. His foot clearly touched the boundary. But why the hell did Williams leave the field????

I think it's purported to be a qualifier. So Ireland are still part of it as it stands. Agree about 12Henry wrote:No one will want to face Pakistan in a quarter final or semi final if their batting starts to fire along with their bowling.

Isn't 12 the number the ICC has proposed for WC 2019?

Cheers, t. Not enough. Ridiculous.
If time is the problem, they could've easily solved it in this WC by playing 2 games every day.
