Wait, what? No. Like Cook he can fail all summer with impunity. A dead rubber ton at 4-0 down against Aus will save him for the winter tour.
Looking more and more like the designated scapegoat to me. It will have to be massive spin to somehow blame this on KP.

All of the media have been mentioning KP too much, it has distracted England and caused them to lose.taipan wrote:Brass Monkey wrote:taipan wrote:30/4 Bell must be on borrowed time.

Good recovery from these two and nice to see England players attacking for a change.

I hold your signature in complete contempt, Mr. Vilketiucie.

I was thinking more along the lines of the triple having a demoralizing effect.

I like Vilks/Dello's sig.
We should all adopt it, in solidarity.

Excellent interview with Strauss.
Clarity when it was needed - and no bull shi**ing his way out of it.
Telling it like it is and not shying away from controversy.
He has a definitive view of what is needed in English cricket - and
KP is not part of it.
One further point that cheered me up no end was the fact that he pointedly
failed to confirm that Cook would be captain for the duration.
Anyway, accept it now, and start supporting him.
The End.

Merlin in supporting Middx shocka. You're nothing if not consistent, Merlin.
Shame that you're a consistent prick.

Well there comes a time when people do have to move on from the KP caravan regardless of their views on how Strauss and the ECB handled the whole issue. Only then can judgements be formed on the new direction. Guys like Root are the future on the field. Nobody could be sure that KP would have handled the NZ quicks that much better than the shaky top order today.

Think it won't be too long before many calls for Root up the order, especially with fast bowlers galore this season.
Surely time to bring on Craig. I seem to remember Stokes as terrible against spin.

Good recovery, two batsmen well set, Ali and Buttler still to come, England look well set for 400+ now.
Stokes appears to be developing into a batsman who bowls a bit. England's Watson?

Will say it was poor captaincy not to bring Craig on earlier.

SFA to do with Middlesex so why don't you climb from out of your own backside and breathe in the fresh air.
Accept the here and now and desist from the chest thumping.
Oh wait! Chest thumping becomes you ... so carry on as you were.

Brain fade from Stokes to end his innings. He's that sort of cricketer- will probably thrill and infuriate in equal measure throughout his career, but England should back him to the hilt, and let him be who he is.
Meanwhile, is anyone else reminded of Graeme Swann when Mark Craig bowls? Right up until the delivery stride.
