Well there comes a time when people do have to move on from the KP caravan regardless of their views on how Strauss and the ECB handled the whole issue. Only then can judgements be formed on the new direction. Guys like Root are the future on the field. Nobody could be sure that KP would have handled the NZ quicks that much better than the shaky top order today.

Brain fade from Stokes to end his innings. He's that sort of cricketer- will probably thrill and infuriate in equal measure throughout his career, but England should back him to the hilt, and let him be who he is.
