Caught Bairstow bowled Stokes... has there been a more ginger dismissal in the history of cricket?

It's just a pity it wasn't Sean Pollock batting.

Bairstow picked that leg spinner worse than Santner. Think he was lucky it hit the stumps.

Aye - alarming that they've played a lot of cricket together and he still can't pick what Rashid is bowling. Doesn't bode well. Shame they didn't allow Billings to keep.
Re: England v New Zealand, 5xODI + 1xT20, 9-23 Jun, 2015
Is Billings rated as a keeper or only a hitter? If he's behind Buttler, he can't really be the best. But he can't be much worse than Bairstow, can he?

Bairstow has tidied up in the last 15 overs, actually. Maybe it's the knicks nerves.

They're going to be the best figures today but he's still not good enough to be given a chance in the Tests.

Bumble made a comment on commentary that he thought that the squad picked for the fitness and fielding trip to Spain was not necessarily the Ashes squad, so there might be hope for Rashid.

Looks like it will probably be normal service resumed as we fail to get anywhere close to a chase of 280-odd...
Morgan seems to be struggling for a plan at the end of the innings in terms of who to bowl. They got 20 or 30 more than they should have done there.

284 for England to win then thanks to a shoite last over from Finn, but NZ were looking good for 300 after 30 overs.

Not sure if Morgan is struggling for a plan - rather than struggling to get his so called 'top performer' Finn to bowl with a bit of nous. That last over he bowled was filth. A series of half volleys, which he expertly delivered to a guy backing away to leg by the way, to a batsman who was lining him up over midwicket. If he had bowled with a bit more sense and cunning then that over of 20+ should have been a lot, lot less.
I am beginning to sound like a real Finn hater but I am genuinely struggling to see how he commands a place in the squad let alone the team.
Pace - none to speak of. Runs a hell of a long way to delvier powderpuff balls.
Accuracy - not really, considering he dobs it in at low 80s. He's about as quick as Shane Watson - and a lot less threatening and certainly nowhere near as stingey.
Cunning - no. He doesn't seem to be able to really think his way through a bad spot. Gets slogged with a half volley, so then repeats it ad infinitum. Althoguh to be fair he did bowl a decent slow ball once today that kind of worked.
Wood looks like a genuine threat when he gets the ball and is capable of getting people out 'properly' - i.e. not when they're just looking to whack him or just slogging at the end. Finn doesn't really seem to have the tools to take people out conventionally.
Plunkett for Finn?
And with Willey coming along (and being the leftie that England so badly feel they need) is Jordan's career in full throttle reverse. Gone from 3rd seamer in WI tests to now maybe sitting on the sidelines waiting for injuries to get a chance to get back into ODI squad.

Outstanding innings by Jonny Bairstow - dreaded him earlier, but that was just fantastic. Dragged us over the line big time. That was awesome to watch.
Great series, too. Brilliant as a spectator. One of the better ones I've seen. Would've preferred a third Test, though...........

As JAMODI series go, that was an absolute belter. England batted like f*cking idiots for the main part today, though. It's all right being super positive and all, but you need to bring your brain as well.
Super knock by Jonny B, good day out for Rashid again - blimey, it's like we've got options or something.
I thought England would do well to win one game in this series, with the squad they picked, and just wanted to see a bit of progress, bit of intent. Amazed that they've won it - in spite of being quite awful in the field (how many catches went down?).
It's progress, folks. It's probably a flash in the pan, folks. But it's progress.

Go the Ginga Jingas. And to the haters on this forum who think skin colour, race and religion make for good things to take the piss out off, do you feel even slightly stupid?

Great series. Probably the best since the 438 series.
