Hmmmm Billings. Looks a bit of a lightweight at this level to me

Off for rain. Reasonable I suppose, you wouldn't a player to crock himself by slipping on the wet outfield.

Ah well, if reports are to be believed this rain isn't going away.
Despite not getting over the line that is the best attempt at a big 300+ score I have ever seen from an England team.

Win or lose, doesn't this performance make the non-selection of Rashid for the World Cup even more mystifying?

Cracking game of cricket.
I think that's all England supporters ever wanted - they don't mind losing, just have a f*cking go.
The batting's shaping up with some promise. Not sure about Billings, but I can understand him playing ahead of Taylor as they need a number seven who can tee off. Not sure where Wee Jimmy would fit into the order.
Wasn't convinced about the bowling before the series began, still not.

Hit the nail on the head. Not arsed in the slightest about the result other than being denied a cracking finish.Dello wrote:Cracking game of cricket.

Brilliant to watch.

Nope. Spoke too soon.
Another Friday night spent watching rain on the tele.

Coming back for 13 balls. 34 runs to win.
Bit of classic Duckworth/Lewis-ing. England needed nine an over when they went off, now they need sixteen.

All done. NZ by 13 runs. Bit of a damp squib at the end there with the rain and D/L farcing it up.
Fun match.
Fun match.

Shitttt. Whatta game though. This is the sort of match that isn't ruining the game from the inside. Lovely stuff. That tag team catch capped it off really. Brilliant to watch. I'd give Billings more than two ODIs btw.

Would have been brilliant if Morgan had taken better to test cricket, it's remarkable how much more likeable than Cook he is.

Jordan has a side strain it would appear. David Willey will be his replacement I would imagine.
Brilliant game - England didn't give a stuff, they just went for it.

You ain't seen nothin' yet. Sunday's game will be played on a road at a smaller ground!

I still don't understand why, under floodlights, the match was denied four overs. It was only 21:20 when it finished. The night was young. Us cool people aren't even going out to paint the town red until 21:30 at least.

The Ageas Bowl isn't a particularly small outfield, from memory. I think it's one of the bigger grounds.

Not as big as The Oval surely?

I wouldn't have thought there was a lot in it - it's not one of those old grounds that has had chunks shaved off the outfield over the years due to redevelopment.
It's just my perception. I haven't got any official dimensions to hand.
