It is how they were viewed this country a long time ago,but we have moved on.I can't believe an innocent child is treated that way in a country that spouts off about being the fairest minded in the world.Do they believe in abortion in India?I am horrified.
I can see Bowden and Rauf getting awfully sick of Jumbo running up to them and saying "Mr Billy, Mr Billy, I am not being happy about what this man call me. He said my mother be wearing army boots and my father be smelling like elderberries." Billy just says dryly "thank you, come again."

Skulls, skulls, skulls, that assumes that Billy speaks better English than Kumble, which I doubt.
My personal experience has been that we Indians speak at least 2 languages a damn sight better than most of the the 'English language natives'.

Lighten up furry, just having a bit of Saturday arvo fun. I just found the image of the Indians vowing to report any instance of verbal abuse mildly amusing. There may be a constant queue of Indian players impatiently waiting for Billy to write down their grievances. And I think Zimmy and his mates may let the Indians know how they feel if the game gets held up regularly for some reporting to the umps. [awaits howls of "yeah but Ponting did it" and around we go again]

No skulls, you lighten up. I was having fun as well FFS.
BTW, I found the image also amusing, except I had in mind Aussies. And Zimmy as well!

Apologies furry, I have found it difficult to see much lightness in any Indian posts in this last week. But kudos to you, man.furriner wrote:No skulls, you lighten up. I was having fun as well FFS.

No problem dude. But even the good Aus forummers- most of em- seem to regard Indians as an amorphous mass. Says something about us. Says something about y'all.

Furry, most of us in Aus get our impression of most of you in India from what we see of your press...

Re: More gold from the Indians
Dude, theoretically, you- when I say you I mean you, skulls, tac, MS, Pontoon actually all of you except poor disadvantaged Zim- are far too intelligent to get an impression of most countries from their media.
So why do you do it for India?
Do you want outsiders to get a decent impression about Australia from the Aussie press? I thought not. In that case why India?
I do not say that the India press does not represent what Indians feel. Only that they represent the worst of what we feel, and not all of who we are.
We all know that the media is a ass ( to paraphrase Dickens). Why should Indian media be different from Aus media?

Furry, I don't wish to go into a long-winded post, so let me say in brief that a maxim I live by is 'At least 90% of people are stupid'.furriner wrote:Dude, theoretically, you- when I say you I mean you, skulls, tac, MS, Pontoon actually all of you except poor disadvantaged Zim- are far too intelligent to get an impression of most countries from their media.

This applies across the globe, irrespective of race, colour, creed, country, sexual preference, whatever.
I realise there are exceptions. I would count you as one.
I hope that helps.

But wasn't that what the Kerry Packer circus in the years gone by all about? Quite a few great players jumped the boat leaving their national teams in a lurch, most notably quite a lot of Aus players. Anyways I think these days, anyone from any side is going to find it difficult resisting a lot of money. Quite a few players are ready to ditch their teams to play the crap Indian Cricket League.

Re: More gold from the Indians
Now furry, it works both ways mate. No Australians raced on here and immediately started calling Indians racist cheats after the Sydney Test but quite a few Indians did just that after the gutting loss (and you clearly were NOT in this category, kudos to you). So if Indian posters are not getting an impression of this country from the media and wildly running with it, where are they getting it from. I think your countrymen generalise Australians just as much as we generalise Indians. It's life mate, we react to media stimulation from all directions. Now I don't think Indians are all Apu clones (I work wih many Indians, Lankans and Pakistanis, and find all to be charming warm individuals). Don't confuse what goes on in here with what I really think. This is harmless fun to pass the day.furriner wrote:Dude, theoretically, you- when I say you I mean you, skulls, tac, MS, Pontoon actually all of you except poor disadvantaged Zim- are far too intelligent to get an impression of most countries from their media.
