There was a fatal shark attack on the east coast of Tasmania today. A recreational scallop diver was taken in the Mercury Passage between Maria island & the mainland. I know the area well as i regularly go fishing there. The mans daughter was also in the water & witnessed the attack. Must have been pretty horrific.

So Mick Fanning's 40 something brother was found dead in Mick's apartment last night - sounds like suicide following a marriage breakup.

Mick is still in with a shot to win the world title but has to beat Kelly Slater in the QF or otherwise hope that his two rivals also lose.
