When I first became interested in golf back in the sixties, Arnold Palmer was my favourite golfer. I have been on Google trying to find the television show that I remembered first seeing him & I have found it. It was called Challenge Golf. Palmer & Gary Player formed a team & took on other well-known pairs. They seemed to win about 90% of the time.

As Big Dog noted, melanoma claims another victim. In recent times we've had Jim Stynes, Tom Hafey, Richie and now Max from the cricket world. These men possibly were too late in receiving the education around sun smart behaviour that prevails today.

Very sad news, and big news down here in Tassie.

Forever remembered for his heroics in 1972-3 (6-15 v Pakistan and an almost unsupported 26 wickets IIRC v the Windies in the Caribbean in 1973, back when the Windies were good). Remained a very good bowler throughout two very big home series in 1974-5 and 1975-6 as well as the 1975 away Ashes and Gilly 1.0, before fading a bit in 1977 and of course losing his last few years of Test cricket opportunities because of the Packer split. Always played in great spirit.
