Yeah, why not. What's the difference.... Apart from Woakes looks totally innocuous if there's nothing in the pitch.
Re: England v Sri Lanka, 3rd Test, Lords, 9-13 June, 2016
If England wanted to make their side better, maybe Finn could do with a break (he seems a shadow of his best), and Woakes as well. But coming off 9 fer farkall in County and not the worst effort in the just completed Test, it's hard to see Woakes getting the flick.
Then again, after winning both Tests without needing Day 5, why would they bother trying to make their side better.

Yeah, I mean, he took 3-9 in the first innings, but my problem has always been on any other style of pitch, he does nothing - he's an up-and-downer with a small margin of greater nip than the other dobbers. Mehsss.
Finn is a broken giant.

I'd give Jamie Overton a go. But obviously that won't happen. We need to find a couple of bowlers who are quick enough to take conditions out of the equation.
Ie a couple of quicks who might have a chance of doing well in Australia.

Finn must be carrying an injury.
Will Stokes be fit? If yes, he should replace Finn.
Compton does not seem up to it. Hales, Knickers and Bwoakes have been Trevved to auto selection status.
Root is head and shoulders the best bat and should be at 3 (does he refuse to bat there?). Is there a competent bat knocking the door down in CC?

Stokes is done for this series. Knee operations are cheeky bleeders. Got to give Compton the series. Root won't move anyway. He's Michael Clarke-ing it. Whatever. Why change a fully functional tyre? Finn is carrying an injury... In his brain

From Bayliss:
While Bayliss suggested that, in an ideal world, he would like to "take a look" at Jake Ball in at Lord's, he also hinted that England may well name the same XI that played in Durham. Chris Woakes, he reasoned, could benefit from a rare opportunity to play two Tests in succession, while he believes Steven Finn could click back into form at any moment.
-------------------------------
Not surprisingly, as Petey says, "same squad".

Was only bowling mid 70s against Gloucestershire earlier today. Great finish to the match for Overton and Somerset with the bat, though.Henry wrote:I'd give Jamie Overton a go. Edit: probably confusing him with Craig... Should get a sticker on their forehead for identification

Aye, posted in the English Domestic thread about the Somerset and Gloucstershire match, incredible finish and I think that must be a record chase for a 10 and 11, was 2nd highest chase for the 10th wicket partnership but not sure if the record was 10 and 11, my guess would be that it would be 11 and a more established batsmen, number 5 or 6 maybe.

It's not the same as you talk about, but I remember Rampaul and Roach putting on 99 unbroken against India a few years ago. It was the first innings, though, and West Indies still lost.

Yeah there's quite a few 10th wicket partnerships with more runs but most in either a losing cause or in the 1st innings. Would be interested if what happened last night (number 10 and 11 chasing the winning runs) was a record.
