Col. Bruce Hampton, ex-Zappa alumnus, very much with his boots on.
Distressing for his jam mates, but what a way to go!

The end for Big Phil?
Queen's staff called to 'urgent meeting'
The Queen's royal staff have reportedly been called from across the UK to an emergency meeting at Buckingham Palace.
The Daily Mirror and Daily Mail report that staff from the royal residences would be addressed by the Lord Chamberlain and the Queen's private secretary, Sir Christopher Geidt.
News of the meeting, which was called at 3am (noon AEST), has prompted speculation on social media about a possible announcement about the Queen or her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.
"Although meetings involving the entire royal household are occasionally called, the way this has been done at the eleventh hour is highly unusual and suggests that there is something major to be disseminated," The Daily Mail quoted a source as saying.
Household staff from Windsor Castle, Sandringham and Balmoral have reportedly been among those called to the meeting.
Buckingham Palace has made no official comment.
British media organisations have reportedly begun to gather outside the palace grounds.
The Queen, 91, has been gradually handing over some of her royal duties and Prince Philip, 95, has also pulled back on his commitments.
There have been concerns about their health recently, with both developing bad colds during the Christmas period.
The Queen met British Prime Minister Theresa May on Wednesday, and Prince Philip officially opened a stand at Lord's.

He looked in good health and humour as he unvieling a plaque at Lords yesty. But at 95, he's only an over-exerted fart away from a heart attack or a brain aneurysm.

So according to "sources" there is no death and no abdication. Have no clue what else could be so urgent.

The denials to the BBC are about Betty and Phil's deaths but not about abdication.

Other sources saying she would never abdicate, but that looks the obvious reason to me,

If Betty does abdicate it would pose some significant problems. There would be huge pressure on Chuck to follow suite & hand over to the 'popular' royals.

There's no way Chuck isn't going to have at least a small stint at being King.

FFS, that is hardly worth an emergency meeting.

Re: Celebrity Death List MMXVII/The Death Thread 2017
My thoughts entirely...esp if I'd been one of the mugs at Balmoral woken at 3am and told to hit the M2 forthwith for an 8am meeting at the Buckhouse
(My first thought before it all flopped, was that Chuck had the hump with the Camel and had given her her riding instructions, in line with a rumor I'd seen somewhere months ago)
