Surprise, surpise.

now now...personally I like the French justice system, including its pace as well as other means of delivering justice.

I adore the French justice system. I Like the French attitude to laws they think are stupid too. And I love the moribund nature of their bureaucracy. Combine the three and you could ask to do something, go ahead and do it regardless and be sitting on a beach sipping margaritas before someone decided to expose you to a scrupulously fair trial.

True. You pay mega bucks & leave the restaurant still hungry.

Nouvelle cuisine is an appalling joke.

Big Dog - Tas scallops are about the best I have tried. The average French person - particularly one from Breton - would cook Tas scallops in a manner that would allow the quality of the scallop to shine through.

What I like about French cooking is the emphasis on fresh and achieving balance in flavours.

I reckon the closest cuisine to French in terms of balance French is Thai which usually strikes a balance between heat, sour, sweet, salt etc in sauces to accentuate th flavour of the food they they are designed to accompany.
