Aust v Pakistan series
Australia's Test squad: Tim Paine (c), Ashton Agar, Brendan Doggett, Aaron Finch, Travis Head, Jon Holland, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Mitch Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Michael Neser, Matthew Renshaw, Peter Siddle, Mitchell Starc
Siddle??..Superannuation tour?
Has anyone seen this Doggett bloke bowl? Is he any good or just a selectors wet dream.
..and the inevitable Marsh's FFS.

I thought Finch could barely make the Victorian Shield side.

On "The Back Page Tonight":
Robert Craddock: Langer loves Head
Rest of Panel: {trying very hard to hold the tears of laughter in; failing}
JGK: {can't help but think of Zimmy's moral dilemma on hearing that}

I thought Siddle retired years ago! Elsewhere, a bunch of T20 players and a couple of South African imports. I'd certainly be happy to see that squad touring here next summer!

Just heard cannot on SEN. He really is dumb. Thought he'd curry favour with Vic listeners by rattling on about Finch. Offered no rationale forr SIDS selection.
Audience responses were entirely negative.
I expect we will get a deserved thrashing. Paine will shake a lot of fans and win an award. He will be confused but be a perfect gent about being replaced by Mere ahead of the Oz summer.e

Selected for his experience due to the youngsters/newcomers in the team according to "someone close to the team".
Probably might bowl third change, try to get 15 overs out of him and if he finishes with 2-50, job well done.

Siddle's been excellent for Essex this season if that's any consolation.
I see Ponting's getting a bit worked up about Maxwell's exclusion but I guess you lot aren't so bothered.

I'm not happy about Maxwell's exclusion
If we can pick Puddle on "potential" then we can also pick No Show ...who actually performs at International level on a level that rates as acceptable a hell of a lot more often than Mitch (...and I'm a fan of the Marshes)
If his story of non selection is true then the NSP needs to be replaced immediately
Told to "rest up" ...so he didn't play pom domestic cricket or go on the "A" tour ....then while wearing his Baggy Green and Oz Test kit doing sponsors promos he gets a call from Cracka saying he missed out to 2 blokes who took their chances on the "A" tour ...WTF!!!!
Still amateur hour when it comes to selections

Yeah, it seems this is the issue Ponting has rather than Maxwell being a 'must pick'.

Also, had to look up what 'ropeable' means. I'd never heard that expression before.

And luckily for us, conditions in the UAE will be just like those in Chelmsford.

I'll have to check but I think outside of England (and Wales) Anderson and Broad have their lowest bowling averages in UAE.

Look at that, didn't even need to include the 'outside of England and Wales' exception:

It'll be interesting to see how Fink goes at the top of the order. He clearly has plenty of talent but does he have the application at the top level of the red ball game? One hopes so.
I also hope Wrench can re-establish himself in the Test side. I think he is technically sounder than Bancroft.
