Have eggs organised for annual Easter egg hunt.for four generations in ex Mrs H family. Got to go via Haigh's for a few more, coz like Mr Dog I am a bit untrustworthy around chocolate.

Same cast just a different outcome. Most of my sister's grandkids are of an age where they prefer cash. They get double if the blow off mass with granny.

Re: Happy Easter Egg long weekend all.
Time to organise the booze. Have made duck confit and am slow roasting Chinese pork. Am making Arroz Gordo for lunch to feed a cast of thousands for GF lunch.
GF used to be the most boring day of the year but nowadays it is more interesting. Each year I cook up a bizarro meal. (Tho I am now banned from cooking tripe) A heap of us pagan types get together with ex Mrs H's family and have a blast.
Tomorrow it will be fun as there are two token Tories, a bunch of radishes and a salad of young greens. At some stage I will be told to gagf by a Short Pants fan and one of the leafy green types will threaten to chuck my crutches up a tree. At least one of the two Tories will accuse me me of being a traitor. I will agree.

Homemade burgers. Pork ribs and maybe some steak. Homemade slaw as well. Washed down with something cold.taipan wrote:Basil wrote:Could be 25c in dear old Blighty by Saturday. The barbecue is calling me.

My standard BRAAI in SA would include all or most of the following. Steak, Pork/Lamb chops, beef short rib, pork sausages and chicken pieces. Assisted by garlic bread, potato salad, boiled eggs and assorted pickles.

That's all the foodgroups covered then. Can I come?
Mrs K and I have been off the booze for lent to show some solidarity with the kids who do it for school. So I'll be getting 6 weeks worth of drinking in over the weekend as we hold a party to show off the new renovations.

Live a little and upgrade to a salmon bagel. Actually smoked salmon on toast, cracked black pepper and some lemon. Red onions even. And iced cold vodka.......mmmmm vodka.
