Thought this one wasn’t going to get its own thread for a moment! Guess there’s an argument for just having a series thread for non-England/Australia Test series, but tradition to maintain I suppose…
Great recovery from the Manics… no double-figure score yet, other than extras!

Taijul messed things up by getting a two-figure score… nobody scored between 15 and 141!

365 with 6 ducks - I shit you not!!!
First time a team has made over 200 including 6 ducks, in Tests.

Two batsmen made 86.6% of the runs, surely a record for an all-out innings?

I'd reckon so.
The best previous "2 batsmen monopolising a total" I can find is 83.7% (SM Nurse 258, MC Carew 91, out of a total of 417).

I'm a big fan of Noughty Brigitte.
I think that's 23 Test innings so far for 8 runs, at an average below 0.8
He's got Chris Martin covered for willowy ineptitude.

Even in FC as a whole with a somewhat larger sample size he only averages 2.44, to Coldplay’s comparatively astronomical 3.71. A T20 average of 8.66 is rather inflated by not outs!

The Bangladesh #10 also needs a mention.
Khaled Ahmed
Following a duck in the 1st innings, he now has 10 innings 3 no, 4 runs, 4* hs 0.57 ave
However, he does average 5.33 at FC level.

I'm worried about Mominal Haque. For many years he was their most successful batsman.
However, starting with the test against Pakistan in Nov 2021, he has had scores of:-
6, 0, 1, 7, 88, 13*, 0, 37, 0, 2, 6, 5, 2 & 9.

The Iain O’Brien to Ebadot’s Chris Martin… Tuffers would definitely bat at 9 in that sideWideWally wrote:The Bangladesh #10 also needs a mention.

Hmm, maybe I spoke too soon.
Lanka achieved a I1 lead of 141 (another big 100 to the Flange + one for Chandimal) and have the Bangers 4-34. Tamim got a pair and Nominal a duck as well.
Maybe Lanka can close out an innings win.

A bit of middle order resistance, but 22 ahead with 4 wickets left, effectively 2 left given the ability of 10 and jack.

Oh dear, what a disappointing capitulation by the Bangers.
Congrats to Lanka.

Ebadot promoted to 10 and made 0* while Khaled made a proper duck. Maybe they will just be rotated, given neither can bat in his natural position of number 12 (barring concussion subs…)
