Anyway, they now have to go off and avoid a white-ball whitewash…

Not often you see a double centurion on the losing side in a Test. She’s in illustrious company. Fitting perhaps that memories of Adelaide 2006-7 are provoked ...

Great news this am. Great ad for five day Tests. Personally I don't like the format for the Ashes and wish it was a three Test series.
Interesting the Test coincided with the release of the Report on sex, race and class discrimination in English cricket. Was the timing deliberate? Pity is it will overshadow what was a terrific game with some fine performances from both sides.

MrK says that it's the first Test - Mens or Womens - to feature a losing side that included a double ton AND a 10 wkts in match performance.

In the Women's 2nd ODI, there was some decent slogging in the final over by Georgia Wareham - 66464.

Yeah, the Belfess lost the plot somewhat bowling that… tough chase for England.

Despite Natmeg’s supreme effort, England fall 3 runs short of taking it to a decider.

Crikey, Georgie Wareham took 26 off the final over in Aus's innings. This was clearly a match-winning effort.
Congrats to the Aus girls on retaining the Ashes.

3 of her 1st 4 balls were half volleys on leg stump (all went for 6). Balls 3 and 5 were half trackers outside off (both went for 4). Wareham took almost full toll on all 5 deliveries.
Well done her. Just put Aus's total out of range of the English.

not a "player of the match" effort though, according to whoever decides that.

England's women can't field. Seemed to drop 2-3 catches every match. Also would've thought Izzy Wong would be around the team, if not in it.
Still better than India's women, who can't bat, bowl or field these days.

Great effort from England to win both white-ball legs and draw the series overall, few would have predicted that.

Excellent series, whatever the limitations.
Aus could have done with M Lanning to steer them to the series victory, but they keep the Furn anyway.
Let's hope more Tests become possible, and the game can grow so there are at least four countries up to that challenge.
