Notably, this game marks the test debut of Joylord Gumbie & he produced a fine innings of 49 in an opening partnership of 97 with Prince Masvaure who made 74.

Paddies opener Peter Moor (didn't he coach the Poms at some point in the near past?) looking for a Test ton as Ireland build towards a lead.

The Bots have soldiered on admirably. They have restricted the Paddies to a possible deficit.
From 1-99 the potato farmers have lost constant wickets to be 7-189 and facing a possible 1st innings shortfall.

From cricinfo
It was a challenging day for Clive Madande, the Zimbabwe wicketkeeper on debut. He first dropped Balbirnie in the morning, and the ball followed him through the day. The inconsistency in line from the seamers, especially spraying the ball down the leg side or the late swing generated after leaving the batters, forced Madande to jump in both directions to stop potential sundries. Sometimes he was successful, but often, the ball went past him.
Most byes conceded by a wk
Highest percentage of runs scored by byes (min 200)

Both keepers made a golden duck in their team’s first innings.

Yikes. The Paddies are making an awful mess of chasing a lowly 158.

Good late order fightback by the Paddies. Tucker and McBrine rebuilt with a near-100 6th wicket stand, then McBrine took them home to the 158 target.
Congrats Ireland.
