sageAs Tuesday's outcome showed, the Indians have the clout to tip the course of events their way. In our national interest and in the interests of cricket, the ludicrous self-loathing displayed by some Australians, including parts of the media, cringing at our team's success, must be buried for all time. In today's cricket world, it is only Australia's on-field superiority preventing the sport from being dominated in every way by the subcontinent, which already wields its financial and administrative clout to the point of bullying.

Yes he's a tad confused is old spanky. My theory is that he enjoyed writing the Ponting sacking article but was shocked how much publicity and angst it caused. He then panicked wondering if he would still having an on-going job with the Fairfax press.

Re: The Australian tears Spanky apart
Both articles are full of twisted facts ....
Roebuck said the Indians should go home for the way they were treated ...the abuse and then the dobbing in by the abusers ...which is different from threatening you are going home if the conduct hearing doesn't give the result they want ...
...and I think Gangles is a turd ...but he had every right to stand his ground on the catch to Hussey ...
...and playing around with the word monkey is just plain stupid

Re: The Australian tears Spanky apart
It does highlight something that appears to have been brushed under the carpet
As recently as the Adelaide Test, the Indians blatantly pressured the umpires. Dinesh Kartirk reportedly wagged his finger at the umpire and spat heatedly on the ground near Michael Clarke, who the umpires had correctly given not out, despite the Indians' vociferous appealing
HTF did he get away with that? It appears the officials are now to gutless to report any Indian

Yep. The umpires want to keep their jobs and Procter doesn't want anymore shit.

Yes, Ponting has never, ever, wagged his digit at an umpire, ever. Not even about a hundred times every match. Or shown an umpire his angry nose.
