Yeah, from the start of this tour even.
IIRC he was put in the team to 'get him some experience', or some such? And look at him now. He really is a talent we should nurture.

Fantastic performance. But is just it me or is there a distinct lack of real interest in these games from among the players and spectators alike?

Was funny watching Wasim struggle with Venky's name, pronounced it something like 'Venkapatesh' the first time and 'Venkapathy' after that.

50k spectators in stadium, but since it accomodates 100k it looks as if half-empty. It's a long time since Aus got some good competition in kriket and it's good for the game.
Re: Australia v India, CB Series game 4, Melbourne, 10th Feb
I dunno about the players or the spectators but post the Test series I feel drained out- it was that good a tournament, despite the fackery. For me, it is a bit hard to drum up interest in the ODIs. Feel I need to rest my head on a block of ice for a month before I can take any great interest.HH_pink wrote:Fantastic performance. From cricinfo:
Plenty of queries as to when Australia were last bowled out inside 50 overs. Well, not long ago, actually - they were dismissed for 193 by India in Mumbai as recently as October 17, 2007. Before that, New Zealand got them for 148 in 49.3 overs on February 16. The last time they failed to bat out 50 overs in Australia was a week before that when, at this very ground, they were bowled out by England for 252 in 48.3 overs. England also dismissed them for 200 in 38.5 overs at the SCG on February 2, so thats four times in 2007. Going back further, they were bowled out for 93 in 34.3 overs by South Africa on March 3, 2006 in Cape Town.

With you both, guys. I know I had a bit of fun during the t20, but I'd started drinking at lunchtime that day.HH_pink wrote:furriner wrote:I dunno about the players or the spectators but post the Test series I feel drained out- it was that good a tournament, despite the fackery. No seriously?
Surely David Hussey is the next out and out batsman to be picked. Haddin looks lost in the field.
