England's Best Spinner
I know you can't always go by stats...........but I've been looking at the stats of former England spinners....the likes of Jim Laker, Wilfred Rhodes and Hedley Verity, whom I'm sure you all know died of wounds received in action in Sicily, where he was taken prisoner during the war in 1943..........
Anyway, who do YOU consider to be England's best spinner of all time?
Can we even mention Tuffers amongst names like those above?

You can always mention Tuffers in a reminisce about English spinners.
Usually followed by: "Jeez, we've had some shit spinners in our time."

Dick Tyldesley was England's best ever spinner but he was discriminated against because he was fat. It's very sad really.

Yet Eddie Hemmings may have been England's worst spinner and still got a number of tests.

I've always had a sneaky regard for Johnny Wardle - 102 wickets at 20 in 28 tests. It's a pity that he was around at the same time as Tony Lock - otherwise he would have played many more times for England. Oh yes, and he was a bit trappy, which would have ruffled a few feathers.
He could bowl orthodox SLA or leggies depending on the conditions, although I think he bowled exclusively SLA for Yorkshire.
