50 for SRT off 56 balls
Aussie fielding absolutely on the money
Yuvraj gone: bowled Hogg 87 for 3

wish rohit had stayed till the end, would have been a great experience for him. very well played though young man, like watching the past, present and future of indian batting with sachin in the middle

Well played India. Bowled tightly to restrict Aus to just 239. Then nursed home with a fair degree of ease by the Little Master with a near flawless ton (amazingly his first JAMODI ton in Aus). Australia have a huge job now to stay in this series. I think a lost toss and continued Ponting poor form will mean a sweep for India in Melbourne.
Well done SRT and India.

Seriously lame effort again from Aust.
SRT was Masterful but FFS, why did the Aust bowlers think it was a a good idea to bowl at his pads so often?

I believe that's what motivates him these days: the burblings of strangers on the interspaz.
So, in a way, you should take credit - it's almost like you scored that hundred yourself.

fantastic knock by tendy and great support from M Sharma...a lacklustre effort from the oz but a good match with India who batted more sensibly bowled better (esp the young leggie) the deserved winners
the only sour note is that bhaji may be cited for several indiscretions - spitting at the crowd and repeated monkey imitations...India team management immediately going into denial does not help either

So impossible to believe that between that Sharjah desert storm and yesterday, 10 years passed Sachin by with at least 20 finals spent trying to reach double figures. What a shame.
Hope he wipes such stats off - [including almost 5 years of repeated second dig failures in tests] before he pulls the plug off his glorious and at the same time a mixed career of achievements. Sachin probably realizes the most that time is running out and this is his last chance of getting in a hurrah or two before his one day career ends. Seeing Dravid and Ganguly go out together and seeing so many new faces around may have served as a welcome wake-up call...

Re: Australia v India, CB Series final (1/3), Sydney, 2nd March
After a long time I saw someone play a great support innings to Sachin in the middle order, something that Azharuddin had mastered so well in his captaincy days in the mid 90s and later. Rohit reminded me of Azhar a lot the other day [in the manner he played his game and got the runs and not due to his technical style] - working the singles game flawlessly, good running between the wickets, good placing of ball in the gaps, willfully piercing the gaps effortlessly, great flicks on the leg side, a decent 60 plus off 80 odd balls...

Re: Australia v India, CB Series final (1/3), Sydney, 2nd March
So looks like Aus tried to KO India out in the very first round, pumped up too much adrenalin too early, took in too many early blows without taking stock of things and ended up getting knocked out in no time.....
Yuvraj and Bhajji should feel justified in that little boxing match they had after dickhead got out. Would have been better if it wasn't Ishant and Bhajji doing the mock-up.....
Revenge must be sweet for Bhajji, 2 wickets of the very two gentleman who have given him the hardest time in the media in this whole of Aus summer...

Amazing that last night was SRT's first JAMODI ton in Australia where he has been coming for 17 years. I also noticed that his strike rate is sub 80 on every ground in Australia.
