One final selfless act from Gilly - getting out early to help end this tour.

Sure it was monotonous Mangy and almost all of what I said almost backfired....But someone still needed to keep it going.....
I am afraid however that my woofing rarely works....They all end up looking like horrorscope predictions for Team India.....

No. No.
Honestly.
If you hadn't have written a word, the exact same thing would've happened over in Australia.
Honestly.
It doesn't rarely work, it never works.
Re: Australia v India, CB Series final (2/3), Brisbane, 4th Mar
Well played India. The brilliance of SRT plus the unexpected dominance of Kuma blotted Australia out of the Finals series.
How important in the end was the blank-minded decision of Ponting to take Hopes off and bowl Bung in the last 4 overs? Hopes was bowling brilliantly, yorker after yorker. Punter chose to take him off and bowl Lee, who leaked 24 runs in his final two overs. Aus lost by less than 10 in the end.
Anyway, well done to the Indians. They emerge victorious after a tortuous summer for players and spectators. I see this as the beginning of the changing of the guard.

Don't celebrate just yet. We've got the potential bore-a-thon that is Nzzzz vs England still to come (<- leave it).

At least the teams are more genial, less sooky, have a smidgeon more decorum, wont turn a breeze into a massive sh!tstorm, whose fans will have less of a persecution complex and wont post as much whiny vitriol. Basically, it'll be much more of a non-event, but there'll be a lot less childish BS being bandied around like some flag for the immature.
Re: Australia v India, CB Series final (2/3), Brisbane, 4th Mar
Sachin was brilliant in the finals.
Kumar bowled surprisingly well.
And Aussies were hurt by Pontings form. I can't believe how good he looked before the start of this series!!

Jeez for glad I am glad my pre-tour predictions were proven so wrong...
What was my pre-series summary?
Ah, Lambs To The Slaughter.
Never been so glad to be proven so wrong.
The young Indian squad has done what no Indian team has done ever and that is beat Aus in Best Of Three finals 2-0 hands down.
So I guess this is it. Farewell to both Dravid and Dada from JAMODIs. It was great while it lasted. I don't see them coming back in now. Of course there may be a case when the young ones will fail but I don't see the seniors like Ganguly being chosen back again like last time after the Dravid-Chapell experiment failed.....

But you have to see India's dismal Final losing chokathon [barring that Natwest win] to see how much it means to us fans....Between Sharjah 1998 and today there was just that one Natwest win with 2 shared trophies and at least 17 Finals defeat. And also winning two in a row off Aus has to be good. England did well last time. India had a very good tour. At least we got in a test win as well.
Glad it didn't get worse as one thought post Sydney.
People who think that Hayden inspiring India to play well as far fetched, need to view till now India's ability to choke in most finals. One has to look at how much his comments could have motivated India, how it could have put more fire, more determination in the side. It looks likely enough. Such controversial ramblings or behaviour from Aussies have almost certainly fired the Indians since Sydney certainly......They have helped India push their adrenalin levels....

you do get that feeling. hopefully it will be india taking over.
SRT what a masterclass, without him we'd have lost 2-0. the batting is still too inexperienced.

I think they could still keep Ganguly at least a year more at max, while trying the young bats turn by turn. bats like Uthappa and UMB still don't convince me. Uthappa to me is still a good lower order hitter and should not be made to open. UMB is crap and useless. Sharma is more or less in, Tiwari needs a long rope next....

Um, changing of the guard... in ODIs, Tests or both? Because I'm not sure about Tests and not sure it would be India in ODIs... they're p!ss.

Might be a changing of the guard in Aust but India have to replace SRT too.

in both forms imo. first mcwarne, now gilly...in between langer and martyn. hayden, ponting and lee are all over 30.
the bowling is definitely weaker and has been shown up this tour and the batting becoming quite brittle, especially the middle order.
