Choose the player you think plays each shot best.

Batsman:

Cover Drive:
Off Drive:
Straight Drive:
On Drive:
Pull:
Hook:
Leg glance:
Square Cut:
Cut:
Late Cut:
Bravery:
Coolness:

Essentially, whichever player you think is best at each shot. Perhaps Michael Vaughan or Gower for the cover drive or Tendulkar or Pietersen for the straight drive or perhaps Sobers for the hook or Athers for bravery. Up to you whether you want to judge the best by aesthetics, effectiveness, or both.

Might asswell just post the players you love to watch, but the ones that stand out for me are Ponting's hook/pull, Anwar/M Waugh shots of their legs and Tendulkar's straight and on drives.

A little bit India heavy and completely composed of batsmen I've seen play, but otherwise seems good.

Some of MoYo's cover drives over the years have been a treat to watch, but for style i have never have seen better than Anwar and M Waugh.

FFS, a couple of JAMODI scores and everyone gets straight back to anally assaulting Sachin.

Strauss' cut shot is one of the best around.

IIRC, he did play a few Tests in Australia recently. Finished with an average of 70 and whatnot.

LLL, it's the same way you anally assault Franky after he scores a deflected goal. Wink

Without bothering too much with players from the past:

Cover Drive: Gangles with Hussey close behind
Off Drive: Graham Pollock nudges out MtB
Straight Drive: SRT
On Drive: Mark Waugh over Greg Chappell
Pull: M. Vaughan when he could play.
Hook: Roy Fredericks
Leg glance: Doug Walters
Square Cut: Gordon Greenidge over Robin Smith for no reason in particular.
Cut: See above
Late Cut: Symonds plays it as well as anyone I remember.
Bravery: Rick McCosker/Bruce Laird
Coolness: Sobers

Where is Chris Martin?

He possesses an exceptional cover drive. It's just that he is extremely unlucky and always seems to get unplayable jaffas early in his innings and never gets a chance to display it.

Agree with quite a few on some lists... Alec Stewart for the cover drive though, never seen anyone play it better.

I can remember Gavaskar reminising (sic) about playing with GP. GP played the cover drive and Gavaskar shouted wait. He looked at Pollock who was shaking his head and turned to see the ump signalling 4.
