A bit surprised at McLauchlan's exclusion I think he is better than Kelly and Coulter Nile ( wouldn't be surprised if he returns to dubberland) ...Thompson bowls fairly quick , but has a dodgy back and his attitude is a bit questionable ...Chris Wood is the son of the WACA CEO and RD's running mate , Graeme....
Gillies and Ervine (and maybe McLauchlan) ...maybe a kick in the arse to step up
Any more Marshs around?

Seems harsh on Wright who was borderline JAMODI a season or so ago.
Unless he asked for too much money.

Simmons Returns Home to the Retravision Warriors |
<table cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=525 border=0><tr><td vAlign=top><table cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=525 border=0><tr><td class=text width=425>19/05/2008</TD></TR> <tr><td vAlign=center height=20></TD></TR> <tr><td class=text vAlign=top><table height=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=525 border=0><tr><td></TD></TR></TABLE></TD></TR> <tr><td vAlign=top> The Western Australian Cricket Association is pleased to announce that former Retravision Warriors opening batsman Craig Simmons will return to Perth after spending the past three seasons in Sydney with the NSW SpeedBlitz Blues. Simmons, who played one first-class game for WA in 2003-04, will bolster the Retravision Warriors' batting stocks for the 2008-09 season. A former Australian Under 19 World Cup-winning squad member and graduate of the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy, Simmons received a rookie contract with the Warriors in 2002-03 and spent three seasons in the WA squad before moving to New South Wales in search of greater opportunities. An attacking left-hander, Simmons has been a prolific run-scorer for Gordon in the Sydney grade competition. In 2006-07 he broke former Test representative Charlie Macartney's record for most runs in a club season for Gordon – 864 at 43.20. He bettered that mark in 2007-08 with 958 runs at an average of 43.55, placing him third in the Sydney grade competition's leading run-scorers. "I felt that it was a good time to return home, and with the retirement of Justin Langer and the departure of Chris Rogers there is a great opportunity to push for a regular place in the Warriors team," Simmons said. "Spending three years in Sydney has beenof great benefit to my game and I believe that I am a far more complete player than when I left Western Australia. "I am really looking forward to working closely with Tom Moody, a coach that I have an enormous amount ofrespect for and who I looked up to as a young lad, and also lining up alongside many familiar faces and former team mates such as Shaun Marsh, Marcus North and Adam Voges." Retravision Warriors Manager & Head Coach Tom Moody says it is pleasing that a talented young Western Australian cricketer has elected to continue his career back in Perth. "Craig was a highly decorated junior player in Western Australia and while it was a shame to lose him from our system three years ago we are delighted that he has agreed to join the Warriors next summer," Moody said. "His form in a strong district competition in Sydney has been outstanding and he is a valuable addition to our 2008-09 squad. "Adding the likes of Craig and Wes Robinson to our batting line-up has helped to offset the departures we had at the end of last summer and we will have a host of players fighting for a regular berth with the Retravision Warriors next season." The Retravision Warriors squad for 2008-09 will be finalised shortly after the second round of contract offers close on Friday 6 June.</TD></TR></TABLE></TD></TR></TABLE> |

Tozzies can have Denton back. Good as he was last season he still missed over half the matches. Time for Harwood and Denton to move on like FFS did.

Wright has not been dumped ... he was offered a contract, but has not signed. Nor has Adam Griffith, yet. Clingeleffer has not been offered a contract ... tough for him, after playing the innings that guaranteed the Shield came to Tasmania in 2006-07.
