Asif Masood (is he the man you're thinking of??) and Salim Altaf had interesting actions ... Masood started with a bit of a foxtrot, Altaf had an ugly slinging action.

I remember Masood - he did that backstep at the top of his run. The bloke I'm thinking of was def white, not very tall, may have been a chrome-dome. He ran a third of the way in, did about half a dozen half-steps, then went back to full stride. He toured here in the early 70s - which makes him either a Pom or a Kiwi, or maybe he came with the ROW.
