I wonder if it's possible that Punter's best is behind him. I know a year or two ago people were acclaiming him as the best thing since Bradman but I've always felt if they get the ball swinging to him he's highly vulnerable, obviously early. At the moment though he just seems to be playing injudicious shots.

The Aussies are being a bit pathetic. First it's "Oh look, all the Aussie players are dominating the IPL. It's finished when they leave" and then its "Oh the Aussie players who are playing like shit-tips aren't trying and are just there for the money".

Before 2007/08, he was averaging around 80 since 2003. Very hard to maintain those sort of standards.

He's the sort of batsman who looks awesome when in form but can look a bit awkward and even out of his depth when out of form. Not unlike Brian Lara.

Ponting's just in a trough at the moment. Methinks the Windies may pay.
