If you had to choose an England XI for the first test against NZ or SAF series, with players from the past 8 years [2000-2008] (access to all players who've had test runs during the past 8 years, regardless of injury or how good they were back in the day).

1. M Trescothick
2. M Atherton
3. N Hussain
4. K Peitersen
5. G Thorpe
6. I Bell
7. A Stewart+
8. A Flintoff
9. D Gough
10. A Caddick
11. M Panesar

You lose points for picking Bell and spelling Pietersen wrong.

Drop Bell - Flintoff at six and either Harmy or Jonah as fifth bowler

Strauss should open in place of Athers. Him and Trescothick were an excellent partnership. Hussain was never as good a batsman or captain as Vaughan, either.

If we're picking players assuming they were in peak form, Harmison would have to play. And if there's no such thing as injuries in this hypothetical world of team selection, Simon Jones and the much under-rated Craig White would get a look in.

Jeez, you're an old fuddy-duddy Dello, didn't you know that these days stuuudents don't have to be able to spell as the teachers have been told it's not important. There are no targets either. So fark all of that I before E except.......etc.

Oh and the Welsh can't spell unless the word involves a triple L and lots of Gs and Hs anyway.

I'll have you know, 15% of essay marks are lost due to bad spelling, punctuation and grammar. These attributes are not needed in this forum.

Also, stay out of the way of the welsh language, you don't understand it, you won't understand and it doesn't need your pity. Smile
