re Shaun Marsh - he has to be in the ODI team at least for the next tour of India. If he can reproduce this form there, then he has to be considered for higher honours.

That has been one of the more surprising factors to this tournament so far - Most of the higher scores have been made through technically correct batting. It has not been the slog-a-thon everyone predicted.

The bowling has been variable though and some of the pitches more conducive than others to high scoring.

Aye, but even considering that, the tournament has not followed the pre-ordained script. There have even been some games won by the bowlers,

Expect Warne and Smith to 'betray' each other when they tour us during our next summer.

Bowlers have done very well on occasions which is hardly surprising given the assistance they've got from some tracks. The batsmen have to hit out regardless.

I made the comment to support the idea that bowlers in this form of the game can be very effective despite the perception that it's a batsman's game only.

Also when judging statistics in the IPL, you have to take into account the highly variable nature of the pitches in a short space of time.
