Is the ICC finally getting off its arse about Zimbabwe?
Three stories on cricinfo...
One: The ICC will discuss the future of Zimbabwe cricket at their executive meeting in Dubai next week, according to David Morgan, the president-elect, speaking during the launch of the ICC World Twenty20 at Lord's. (More in link)
Two: Martin Williamson looks at the three options on the table.
Suspend Zimbabwe's Full Membership, Do nothing or Downgrade Zimbabwe to Associate status
Regarding 'Do nothing' "insiders believe that India could well block any major action against Zimbabwe". This is pissweak from India if true, especially given they want to be regarded as the new power base for the game. There's a moral dimension, not just the money. Pathetic.
As for 'Downgrade to Associate Status'... "Likelihood Remote. There are too many factions who rely on Zimbabwe's support within the ICC and would be reluctant to see a guaranteed vote removed." Even more piss weak. Any country in the ICC relying on Qunt Mugumbo's vote deserves to have action taken against it too.
Three: South Africa cut links with Zimbabwe. Pressure from its own cricketers appears to have forced Cricket South Africa into an embarrassing about-turn regarding cricketing links with Zimbabwe.
So well done to the yarpies.

It happened in 2003, with help from the antipodeans, it could easily happen again.

No and I can't see it changing. India will just put the hard word on whoever has the least firm stance on the subject again. Zimbabwe is a guaranteed vote in whichever way they want to try and ruin the game.
Re: Is the ICC finally getting off its arse about Zimbabwe?
Any country that puts that kind of vale on a vote at the ICC table ought to be ashamed of itself.

Ought to be, but aren't. It's still probably all about some chippy 'payback'. A decent proportion of fans seem that way. Living eons in the past.
Re: Is the ICC finally getting off its arse about Zimbabwe?
And living in the past is no way to move forward.
Wow, that was deep.

Yes, the ICC is off its arse, and is now comfortably astride Mugabe's member, whilst orally polishing the Pakistani board.

But you forgot something about stroking the BCCI's engorged manhood with a delicately manicured palm.

This is the second thread that Zat has started even as a third thread about Zimbot cricket exists, to have a whinge about Zimboks, ICC and BCCI in particular. I suppose it would be too logical to keep all the crap in one thread no? You got too much free time on your hands or what Zat? This obsession about bad BCCI could prove very fatal for you.

Of course, date of starting not withstanding the fact is there are 3 threads and you have started 2 of those. YOU COULD HAVE AVOIDED FLOODING US ONE OF IT BY KEEPING IT TO YOUR EARLIEST THREAD YOU RETARD.
That said, any obsession with BCCI is dangerous and I do feel concerned for you on that count, even if I fail to see you as a friend.

Calling Banalman an idiot is an insult to idiots to world over...
And yeah, nice threat thrown in... Of course it probably wasn't really a threat, just some sort of 'cultural misunderstanding'.

Re: Is the ICC finally getting off its arse about Zimbabwe?
OK, I started one thread a week ago, obviously ahead of it's time. It then slipped away to later pages.Batman wrote:Of course, date of starting not withstanding the fact is there are 3 threads and you have started 2 of those. Once the debate had began, someone else started another thread.
I started another thread, which was focusing on the potential for the ICC to be creative, and maybe find a solution, as the other thread had been hijacked by BCCI apologist TO.
You obviously don't have the ability to distinguish nuance.
And in order not to be accused of being underhanded, I will let you know now that I have reported your threatening behaviour. Thank you, come again.

Quiet expected. The second retard would drop in eventually to hand out his bit of sh!t. Could have won a bet today on your showing up Zimmy. You are so damned predictable. The idiots in the world may not like my name being mentioned with theirs, but they won't object to yours. So you can go join them and take my place.....

Re: Is the ICC finally getting off its arse about Zimbabwe?
TBH Zat I did think you were flooding the forum with your thread about Zimbots and BCCI. It is possible you forgot about your other thread. I will give you that benefit of doubt. Having multiple threads about one subject just makes it more chaotic and difficult to keep track of is all. I thought having already had close to 30 pages in Holc's third thread we could have avoided having another in the mix.
Anyways no point slanging off over it. I will back off this thread and hope Zimmy also displays some maturity without jumping in for no reason.

It's OK lardy, I've taken the appropriate steps. I've reported the threat, and I now don't have to read any more of his diatribe, if you know what I mean.
