Re: Bangladesh v Sri Lanka, Asia Cup, Karachi, 30th June
Does anyone else find it odd that these teams are already playing each other again in the tournament, yet Pakistan are yet to play Bangladesh?

He's getting a bit old to face the big boys these days, but Jayasuriya can still bully the minnows on a regular basis.

Aye - currently 58 off 32 balls.
It's amazing that the Bangles haven't improved in a decade of international cricket.

Yeah, and yet they consistently beat teams like England, South Africa, and Australia in under 19's cricket, so it's not like the raw talent isn't there. You'd think that by now at least two or three of their batsmen would have stepped up and become solid international performers. But someone like Ashraful is still incredibly inconsistent, despite oozing talent.
Mortaza and Shahadat have potential as fast bowlers, but when they are bad, they are very, very bad. They just can't put any consistently good cricket together as a team.

I thought they were starting to turn the corner after the world cup last year. They had a pretty good T20 world cup as well. But they've receeded back into mediocrity.

only 130 off the last 22 after that start. should have been 370+
bangles looking hopeless once again. how many first class matches are there locally in bangladesh? are there any 4 or 5 day matches there? seems like the players dont know how to plan an innings or bowling spells

In an interview, Athar Ali Khan actually said there FC structures good, just that the standard of bowling is so low, the batsmen just can't cope when they go intl.

that would make sense. most of the little success that the bangers have had has been courtesy of batsmen. mo rafique has probably been their only really decent bowler. razzaq and mortaza are steady at best.
looking at them, they dont have seem to have the physiques for fast bowling...generally quite small

He will cause problems in England, South Africa and New Zealand. The Bongo-Bongo's badly need to find another bowler like him.
