I've got tickets tomorrow- I was there 4 years ago to watch Smith make that b*stard excuse for a test double century. Please lord not again.

Early signs are not good - England starting pretty ordinarily...

Aye - Sidders was way off target with those 2 overs. Infact he didn't bowl that great v NZ at the same ground. Needs to tighten up the line...

In a totally unrelated note, I've just been perusing KP's career summary on cricinfo. In particular, his statistics batting at 4 seized my attention considering the way he was dropped back down to 5 by Fletcher because he supposedly couldn't handle the Aussie new-ball bowlers:
29 matches, 46 innings, 2420 runs at 53.77. 10 Hundreds and 4 Fifties.
So, at 4, he registers a hundred in every 4.6 innings. His conversion rate is 71%. Why exactly did Fletch bounce him back down to 5, exactly? That's a record that must stand up against most England number 4s, and perhaps world number 4s, ever.

Why did Feltch pick Fred as skipper? Why did he pick GoJo? Why did he pick Piles over Monty?

I know Duncan Fletcher gets the blame for everything that's ever happened ever, but it was Pietersen himself who wanted to bat at five.
IIRC, England wanted him at four in the 06/07 Ashes, but he preferred to stay where he was - until he kept running out of partners due to the weak lower order and tail. Then - and only then - he decided to move up the order.

Typical bloody Ian Bell.
He's never scored a Test double hundred without another batsman getting one first...

Random observation: but Paul Harris reminds me a little bit of Ashley Giles. Big man with a somewhat mechanical action. But more often than not will bowl with control and get a bit of bounce. Will do a job for the team without ever ripping through a side.

P Harris should not be playing for any of the top 8 test countries, it is even more sad that this guy is playing for a # 2(or 3) team in the world.
