Well done to Sehwag - 200 up.
I calculate that he'll have to add another 70 without Ishant getting any to break Bannerman's record.

Agreed.skully wrote:Seaweed is gonna have to go nuts to break that record. Bannermans record is 165 out of 245 = 67.35%. Viru currently sits just above 60%.SG wrote:Don't think test cricket's oldest record would be broken today.JGK wrote:Could Bannerman's record be about to fall?

This is the fourth time that he has scored 200 plus runs and this SEEMS to be his best innings ever.

Only second Indian opener after Sunny to carry his bat in tests. Shows how rare is this feat for Indian openers.

Thats lunch.
If only our bowlers bowl their hearts out atleast once this could shape into a very exciting test match.

Genius innings by Sehwag (I would've given him long odds to ever carry his bat for India) and brilliant bowling by Mendis. He is a massive find for Sri Lanka.

This is either one of the great innings of all time or some seriously lame batting by the rest of the Indians.

Bit of both I guess.JGK wrote:This is either one of the great innings of all time or some seriously lame batting by the rest of the Indians.
Had even 1 of Tendulkar, Dravid or Ganguly supported Sehwag, India may well have outbatted SL in this test by now.
