Turns out that this is the first instance of a carried bat 200 AND a michelle in the same innings.
Next best is Frank Worrell's 191* (opening) v Fred Trueman's 5-63 in this Test
OR
Len Hutton's 202* v John Goddard's 4-25 in this Test

Superb innings from Veeru, his best innings yet I'd say. I see the other remaining twits lived up to expectations. Could be an interesting game this -- but our bowlers might have to actually do something, for a change.

Re: Sri Lanka v India, 2nd Test, Galle, July 31st July - 4th Aug
Everybody wants to bat like Viru:
6.6 Zaheer to Warnapura, FOUR!!, and another one! Zaheer overpitches on middle and leg and Sangakkara drives airily through wide mid on!
6.5 Zaheer to Warnapura, FOUR!!, short of length delivery outside the off stump on that occasion, Warnapura goes on the backfoot and upper cuts it to square third man, over the slips, not 100% in control of the shot but four nonetheless!!!
6.4 Zaheer to Warnapura, FOUR!!, pitched up again, wide outside the off stump this time, Warnapura goes through the covers and treats himself with four more!!!
6.3 Zaheer to Warnapura, FOUR!!, fuller length delivery on the middle and leg, Warnapura comes on the frontfoot and punches it to long on, beautiful timing and good placement too
