West Indies Champions Trophy Squad - Not happy
Some very nasty rumors flying around the Caribbean and a Jamaican newspaper has printed that Brendan Nash and Carlton Baugh Jr have been called up in place of Dwayne Bravo and Denesh Ramdin.
Gayle has basically held the WICB to ransom and said he will only captain the side if he has more say in the selection of the team. It looks like this is going to result in the team being full of Jamaicans. I can understand them giving Baugh Jr another chance considering Ramdin's batting problems this year but Nash replacing our most talented cricketer in a ODI event is a joke.
Will post the full squad when it becomes available.

I only wish that were so! Apparently he has been dropped. I am praying the papers and those in the know are wrong but they are usually spot on.
Replace an all rounder with all the shots in the book who is an expert at bowling at the death and one of the Worlds best fielders with an Australian stonewaller who bowls left arm pies.
Not an encouraging start by the new selectors.

Why would Gayle drop Bravo? It just doesn't make sense.

Well I'm glad someone finds it amusing. Nash was crap in our List A competition, he only excelled in the 4 day stuff where he took 250 balls to get centuries.
How the hell is he going to succeed in the ODI stuff?

Yes, it's Antonio "Desperado" Banderas. It's a still from the movie.

Wherever the great Shivster (AKA Shivnarine Atlaspaul) goes, I follow. So I am currently a Durham fan and proud.
I have heard that Bravo is injured and unable to bowl in the Stanford 20-20 training camp taking place at the moment, and that is why Nash has been drafted in.
Also, the squad is not for the Champions Trophy but for a tri-series in Canada involving West Indies, Canada and Bermuda.

Re: West Indies Champions Trophy Squad - Not happy
The squad for the ODI's against Canada and Bermuda has been named:
1. Chris Gayle (Captain)
2. Carlton Baugh
3. Sewnarine Chattergoon
4. Fidel Edwards
5. Shawn Findlay
6. Leon Johnson
7. Xavier Marshall
8. Nikita Miller
9. Dave Mohammed
10. Brendan Nash
11. Daren Powell
12. Kemar Roach
13. Ramnaresh Sarwan
14. Jerome Taylor
The only additions for the champions trophy will be Shiv (being allowed to stay at Durham) and Bravo (slight ankle injury).
Notable inclusions:
- Kemar Roach the right arm fast bowler is included once again, as the quest to find someone to replace Powell in the Test team moves apace.
- Brendan Nash is there to fill in for Bravo. He really doesn't score quickly enough for ODI's so he must be there as a specialist fielder tbh.
- Leon Johnson is a 20 year old left handed middle order batsman from Guyana. He has based his game on Lara to such an extent that BCL traveled to Guyana to watch him bat when Johnson was just 15 years old. He has just had an excellent debut FC season, but once again this is a pick based on potential rather than numbers.
- Dave Mohammed gets a long overdue ODI call up. He has been a miserly bowler and useful batsman in One Day cricket.
- Baugh Jr replaces Ramdin as discussed earlier in the thread.
