All that sort of talk does is open yourself up for ridicule when your side reverts to its normal ruthless style of play. It's no wonder everyone thinks we're thunderqunts with Drunky tyring to claim some high moral ground.
Ponting makes a big deal about wanting to accept the fielder's word on catches but the opposition captain not agreeing. If it is such a big deal to him why doesn't he just instruct his team to do it regardless of how his oppenents play the game.

Aye! A gifted batsman blessed with a decent team. A spoilt brat who should never have been given the position in the first place. Should run neck and neck with Bill Lawry as our worst.

Unfortunately this what happens when you give the job to someone who isn't from NSW

Agreed. Like G.Wood said- Why the ****** does he STILL try and claim the moral high ground? If he feels so strongly about taking the fielders word on catches, then there's nothing to stop the Aus team doing it regardless of what India does.

It's interesting that he gets pissed off with other captains for not agreeing to his decrees on dubious catches. Hayden claiming one off Rudolph several years ago and then showing dismay when people questioned him and the crowd booed him might go some way to explaining that. And in the same match Hall caught a slightly dubious one down low off Hayden which appeared to be a clear catch but the umpire gave him the benefit of the doubt because of his whingeing. I am of the view that this influenced others' thinking regarding the 'gentlemen's' agreement on catches. I thought Hayden's behaviour was cringeworthy.

Not being from NSW is the only thing he's got going for him.

I don't think he 'goes out of his way', he's just plain clueless. I thought CA had PR experts on hand to help the mentally deficient. If they do CA should ask for a refund.

Re: Punter calls for peace
IMO Ponting's biggest problem is that his mouth functions 10 to 20 seconds ahead of his brain - presuming of course that he possesses the latter organ.
And then he wonders aloud why the most neutral of cricket crowds in the UK, at Lord's, gives him a hard time on-field.
If he'd had kept his mouth shut about "time wasting" with an unsubtle reference to Straussers lack of the "spirit of cricket" at Cardiff, he might have avoided all the crap that follows him around now.
Simple as that.

He's allegedly had a lot of media training. Remember he left school when he was 15.

Someone ought to enlighten him to the fact "media training" doesn't entail gathering together a few hacks forRed wrote:

a jog round the boundary rope.
PS. Isn't 15 the normal leaving age at Tasmanian borstals?

He wrote an auto(cough)biography when he was still getting turfed out of KX nighspots. The man's a 22carat wanker.
He's a creation of CA.

I have said frequently that I rate TFF as one of our best captains. I merely pointed out that he should never have been there in the first place.

'Frequently' is to how often you fulminate on Tubby's captaincy, what Mount Wycheproof is to Everest.
