Korean war flares up again- In doubt for peace
Can a war really be avoided now? North Korea is itching for a scrap, it seems. Maybe the South, Japan, and the US will decide that there is no alternative now but to bomb the sh!t out of them?

They would take out the supposed nuke sites first before they can get a missile away, that's for sure. It's still debatable as to whether the North is capable of launching a nuclear weapon far enough to strike its enemies.
This comes on top of the submarine incident a couple of months back. How much more will the South tolerate? The South Korean public was already very angry with the North, and in a democratic country that means the President will likely feel compelled to act.

Just shows what happens when you have an economy which is 100% public sector.

thats not the kind of bluff you call. besides, seoul is just a few miles from the border
the americans are not sure where all the pakistani nukes are despite having such close ties to their military and having a large presence within the country. you think they know where all of NK's nukes are? bombing an enrichment facility before any weapon production is not the same as taking out all armed nukes. there could be one in kim's toilet for all they know

iraq was never know to have nukes. NK nuke paraphernalia has been found in many countries. their claimed tests registered as seismic events. they are more likely to have nukes than not to have them

Heh, weird, I randomly came across this site yesterday:
http://www.carloslabs.com/projects/200712B/GroundZero.html
The "Tsar Bomba" seems to be the most powerful one, it's genuinely f*cking terrifying, one landing in London would pretty much wipe it off the map.
It's not inconceivable that a nuclear war could occur in my lifetime. Most of you guys will probably be okay though, old barstewards.

and then you look at asteroid impact
the tsar bomba was actually a scaled down version of the original design. thankfully they didnt begin production after the test

The Chinese have put them up to it so they can come in a calm things down and gain a bit of leverage in their bitch-fight with Japan over a couple of rocks in the Ryukyu Ilsands . . .

Oi taccy, what's this new supercity I've been reading about that they're apparently building in western South Korea?

the one in incheon? its big but not really a supercity. more like a mini-city. replicating a megacity would take much more money
there are dozens of the same in various stages of construction all over asia. the most successful in the post-war period would probably be the cities of the pearl river delta

NK would not initiate a nuke in response to conventional warfare as the second it did it would cease to exist. Even commie barstewards like sex too much to commit suicide on principle!

Pah! The Koreans are amateurs. They should send a team of observers to the Gabba tomorrow.
Two teams of observers.

Lots of ads here in Aus to join the bandwagon. Calling it the new Business Hub of Northeast Asia. I wonder what Shanghai and Tokyo have to say about that?

Tokyo has been flat-lining for 20 years now.
Shanghai is on the move, along with several other Chinese cities. Actually in Japan, Nagoya is now the fastest growing City economically.

I say let these quasi-democracies and China nuke fark out of each other. More car parking space for countries whose citizens vote without high school dropouts with automatic weapons looking over their shoulders.

No just sick and tired of governments of all persuasions pandering to throwback empires because we've got coal and uranium.
Things got pretty tense on here during the election but no-one died. Unfortunately it's going to be a 'Pacific' century and China, ruled by a couple of blokes with serious psych problems, is the big dog.

you want to play russian roulette with kim?
a purely conventional war has no advantages for NK. kim is on his death-bed anyways. this would be a way to make himself legendary. not like barney
